GRADES K-2

Overview:

Music Concepts and Objectives/Outcomes (that is, student learning outcomes) are indicated on each lesson. Over these 3 lessons, the Concept Areas of Rhythm (Beat, Tempo, and Patterns), Melody, Form (Phrase and Sections), Texture, and Tone Color/Timbre are used. Skills developed over the 3 lessons are Singing, Moving, Listening, Performing/Playing, Evaluating, Creating, Describing/Analyzing, and Relating music to other subject areas such as art and history.

Lessons Include:

  1. Walk (Promenade) and Tap the Beat Lesson
  2. Sing and Play the Melody Lesson
  3. Comparing Two Versions of the Same Piece


GRADES 3-5
