When we think about our great classical composers, we often imagine them with silver hair and serious faces, as they’re seen in their most famous portraits. Especially when listening to their greatest works, we sometimes forget that they were all once students, too: taking lessons, doing homework, and attending classes like any other young person looking to hone their craft. 

As many students around the country return to school this month, WGUC is airing its own original special called “Composers in the Classroom,” a 2-hour-long program featuring the earliest student works by our most beloved classical composers.
