Information we automatically gather when you visit CPR websites
We record data for each visitor who accesses our sites using Google Analytics. This allows us to make our sites more useful to our visitors. The data recorded does not contain a visitor's name, address, phone number, credit card numbers, or any other personally identifying information. Rather, these log files may contain some or all of the following information:
- The date of the visit
- The time and length of the visit
- The path taken through the Web site
- The browser being used
- A list of files downloaded or viewed
- The amount of time spent listening to audio files
- The Internet Protocol Address (IP Address) of the machine accessing our Web site*
- Any errors encountered
*Most Internet Service Providers use a "dynamic" form of assigning IP Addresses. This means that a visitor may have a different IP address each time he or she visits a website. Also, many Internet Service Providers use "proxy servers," which provide even more anonymity for visitors.
We use this information to aid the technical administration of the sites and to better understand how each site is functioning for its users. This information may also be used in aggregate form.
The information we collect is used to improve the content of our Web page, used to notify consumers about updates to our Web site, not shared with other organizations for commercial purposes.
With respect to security: When CPR transfers and receives certain types of sensitive information such as financial information on any CPR website, we redirect visitors to a secure server. We have appropriate security measures in place in our physical facilities to protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information that we have collected from you at any site.
How we protect the privacy of children
We will not collect personally identifiable information from any child under the age of 18. If we know that your child is under the age of thirteen, we will collect your permission offline (by postal mail, fax or phone) before we take any action such as mail any prizes or respond. If your child sends us an e-mail with a question or comment, or contacts us for any other reason, such as entering a contest or answering a survey, we will collect your permission offline (by postal mail, fax or phone) before taking any action such as mail any prizes or respond. The email will not be stored for future communications or shared with anyone else.
If your child submits stories, artwork, comments or anything else to us which is posted at our site, he or she will be identified only by first name, initial of last name, and grade.
Parents can be assured that:
- CPR will not require a child to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary to participate in an activity;
- any information collected from a child can be reviewed by the parent and you can refuse to allow any further collection or use of your child's information;
- you can direct CPR to delete any information collected from a child.
To exercise these rights, you can contact CPR at 1223 Central Parkway, Cincinnati, OH 45214. We can also be reached via e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or by telephone at (513) 241-8282.
If you do not wish to accept a cookie from CPR's servers, you can adjust the settings on your browser accordingly. Refusing to accept cookies from the CPR server may result in some limits on the benefits that we can automatically provide as you enjoy the CPR websites.
