Beginning in September, the String Program at Peaslee Neighborhood Center will provide free instruction, instruments and performance opportunities to residents of Over-the-Rhine on the cello, violin and guitar. This is a community based program that gives children the technical skills of playing instruments and musical literacy, the ability to be improvisers and creators of their own music, appreciation of music from diverse cultures, and an awareness of their role as leaders and agents of change in their community.
Used instruments (violins and bows, cellos and bows and nylon string classical guitars) can be donated to the program by dropping them off at the Center on Wednesdays from 9:00 am and 5:00 pm throughout the summer.
